The Yellow Golden Back Neocaridina Shrimp is a selectively bred color variant of the Neocaridina davidi species, known for its vibrant yellow coloration and distinctive golden stripe running along the back. 

Key Characteristics:

  • Coloration: Bright lemon-yellow body with a metallic golden stripe on the dorsal side (the “golden back”).

  • Size: Typically 1–1.5 inches (2.5–3.8 cm) when fully grown.

  • Lifespan: Around 1–2 years with proper care.

  • Behavior: Peaceful, social, and active scavengers.

  • Tank Role: Excellent for algae control and detritus cleanup in planted tanks.

  • Diet: Algae, biofilm, shrimp pellets, blanched vegetables, and occasional protein-rich treats.

Breeding:

  • Easy to breed under stable conditions.

  • Females carry eggs (berried) under their tails, which hatch into miniature shrimplets.

  • No special intervention needed if predators (like fish) are absent.
